Thank you for visiting Breath by Breath, an exploration of the way we learn to be happy. Please, take a look around; you can subscribe to my feed, read recent posts, or check out the about page to learn more about me.
This blog serves three purposes:
1- To share with you the many tricks, tools and resources I’ve learned for fighting anxiety and depression, and to keep you on track with frequent, specific exercises.
2- To share the things that have made me happy, and to provide a forum for you to share your joys.
3- To keep myself on track! Staying happy is a lot of work, and I hope that this blog will remind me that I am accountable for my own well-being.
A word about “happy.”
I am not suggesting hedonism or focus on the ephemeral pleasures of life. I use ‘happy’ as , to mean feeling: content, capable and centered.
I’ll also add, as the title of this blog suggests, that you can only be happy now (and now, and now). Thus, this blog will offer several exercises for focusing our attention on the present moment, narrowing our focus to broaden our lives.
Thanks for reading. I look forward to your participation.
In Joy,
Maile
