I rented a house in Sedona, Arizona for a month included in the deal was a gas grill the Weber Spirit E-210, Visiting friends came over and we grilled up some salmon steaks turned out great. It was a small Weber Smokey Joe, same one I have back home which I did not use for years. Charcoal system had become too dirty and too many problems.
When I returned from my trip, I went to Target, Walmart and Home Depot to shop for a grill. Home Depot had a grill, on sale with a large stainless steel grill, Original price $ 369 – Sale price of $ 199. the unit was the only one remaining in the shop at that time, I didn’t get the brand name, anyway I bought the grill and arranged for friends to pick it up the next day because it was too large to load on my SUV. I knew it was badly built but the price was too tempting.
When I got home that night I started reading reviews on the grill that I had just bought. Almost all of them are negative. I saw other Webers on the floor at Home Depot. Clearly superior quality. However, they are also much more expensive. I decided that I wanted to buy a good grill with a brand name. I can not imagine having friends for dinner and have burner problems
I went back to Home Depot the next morning. Cancel the original purchase and bought a Weber Spirit E-210. I asked Home Depot to assemble the grill for me.
Cooking on a gas grill is an art. If you do not know how to do it you get poor results. I watched a video on gas grilling by the head chef over at JACK’S Steak House.
This video made me go in the right direction. Important points is the high heat and preheat with the lid closed.
