I decided to do yoga on the balcony the other morning, but instead of the usual jumping around, I did a slow, easy practice. Sitting, breathing, listing to the water.
My stillness must have seemed non-threatening because this bird, who usually sticks to the other side of the lagoon, came over to my side and stayed through the rest of my practice.
His visit caused me to slow down even more, really becoming aware of my body, noticing the areas of fluidity and of rigidness, until I found myself sitting behind the camera, waiting.
It turned into a kind of meditation, akin to the lessons in The Zen of Creativity, and it was beautiful.

Great picture, Maile! Moments like this are priceless.
