My sister said this to me the other day, and I thought it would make a nice daily practice for the blog:
Along the lines of silently wishing people well, I caught myself being very frustrated the other day at a donut shop … And I decided that when I catch myself judging people, it’s a good practice to think of what they had for breakfast. Then I can picture more about them, where they could live, if they get breakfast at all, etc.
Thanks to Anela for letting me share it.

I like to think of people as doors. You just talk to them and they open up and they’ve had this whole life before you even laid eyes on them. They’re like books on a book shelf waiting to be read.
What a wonderful thing to think about. And I like the comment above me too!
I love the art!
Thanks for the comments. I like that idea of thinking of people as doors. It sounds kind of like the zen concept of the Don’t Know mind, of going into conversations without expectations and waiting for the people to reveal themselves, for the doors to open up.
